Josh Stein is the most qualified candidate for governor in North Carolina history.

His legislative and executive record demonstrate he will work hand-in-glove with the General Assembly and enforce the State’s laws effectively for his full term in office.

Stein graduated from Harvard twice. He’s an effective prosecutor, winning the State more than $80 billion in legal settlements with Duke Energy, Johnson & Johnson, and other corporations doing harm to North Carolina’s citizens. Stein has worked closely with interest groups to draft legislation addressing the State’s most urgent needs. He’s everything his Republican opponent Mark Robinson is not: skilled, educated, proven.

Have you or someone you love ever suffered from a problem and wondered, “Why won’t the government do something about that?” Chances are good that Josh Stein is doing something about it.

Here’s some examples:

Are you going crazy from constant illegal robocalls and scammers?

Stein’s office successfully sued phone company Articul8, who violated telemarketing laws and routed more than 65 million scam phone calls to North Carolina, some from imposters pretending to work for the government, and is working to shut them down altogether. He joined 50 other attorneys general in issuing a warning letter to iDentidad to stop transmitting robocalls. Stein is also suing Club Exploria, who placed over a million robocalls to North Carolinians. He isn’t standing idly by while we are harassed and targeted by these illegal calls every day.

Have you lost a loved one to fentanyl addiction or overdose?

Stein aggressively pursues offenders thanks to North Carolina’s unique death by distribution law and puts dealers in prison for longer sentences. Stein’s office drafted three laws in response to the fentanyl crisis: the Strengthen Opioid Misuse Prevention Act, the Synthetic Opioid Control Act, and the Heroin and Opioid Prevention and Enforcement Act. These laws classify derivatives of fentanyl as controlled substances, strengthen existing laws against theft of drugs by first responders and health care workers, require electronic prescribing of opioids to cut down on fraud, and take other measures to empower law enforcement and prosecutors. Another part of Stein’s approach to the fentanyl crisis is suing drug manufacturers, and he’s been very effective at that, winning large judgments for harm reduction, treatment and prevention of opioid addiction and overdoses. Stein recognizes the tragedy of opioid addiction and overdose and has tackled the crisis in every way he can.

Are you worried about reproductive rights and the Affordable Care Act?

Stein filed a friend-of-the-court brief to the Supreme Court to protect the ACA provision that compels insurers to provide basic preventative care to patients free of cost. He joined a coalition of 24 attorneys general to fight Idaho’s unconscionable abortion ban, which does not include any exception for emergency abortion care, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. In an evolving world following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Stein fights for women’s health.

Do you hate seeing the true price for an event ticket you are purchasing right before you pay?

That won’t happen any more in 2025 thanks to Josh Stein. Stein worked closely with legislators to enact a provision requiring ticket sellers like Ticketmaster to display the total price of a ticket – including fees – at the outset, not immediately before purchase. If you’ve grown fed up with the true purchase price of an event in North Carolina potentially doubling the listed ticket price, that won’t be a thing anymore next year thanks to the General Assembly and Stein.

There’s more. A lot more. But don’t take my word for it. Be a conscientious voter; visit Stein’s government website at https://ncdoj.gov/about-ncdoj/the-attorney-general/ and his campaign website at https://www.joshstein.org/meet-josh.

Do something about it. Vote for Josh Stein!
